For over 50 years, the Oakland History Room, at the Main Oakland Public Library, has been the single most extensive repository of the city’s historical record. Authors, school children, architects, historians, homeowners, developers, reporters, family genealogists, and city planners are among those who use it every day.

By joining the Friends of the Oakland History Room, you will help fund projects that preserve and expand the History Room’s collection while enhancing the public’s accessibility to it.

In these challenging economic times for Oakland’s city government, your support is crucial. We appreciate your generosity!
